Methodology
Research, conducted in the Center, is based on the ideas of the Cultural-Historical Theory and Activity Approach. These theoretical frameworks are applied to analyze development, education and socialization of contemporary children and adolescents.
Research projects, conducted on the basis of the Center, focus on:
- the role of new means that mediate children's activities (games and toys, digital media including apps, VR technologies, social networks etc.);
- shifting social and psychological norms (at what age a child should be able to do what);
- transformation of social institutions (“school of the future”, non-formal education that combines both play and learning);
- inclusion (children with special educational needs, migrants).
All projects are interdisciplinary and bring together specialists in various scientific fields, including psychologists, educators, sociologists, IT specialists and policy makers.
